"Incorrect Marking" Mails Policy

Written on 26.06.2025 16:50 by Roman Wetenkamp

Dear students,

I still receive several mails asking for regradings and claiming that the marking is "incorrect". Please note that Janine has sent a very clear news post about that some weeks ago where she said that we will not answer those mails. The place to discuss those issues is the clearance session.

In over 95% of all cases where students claim that the marking is incorrect, in fact just their submitted JSON is incorrect. In only very rare cases there are other acceptable answers that I am not aware of. You can always come before or after the exercise sessions to discuss those questions.

In the JSON submissions, I have seen all kind of variations in dictionary keys, confusion of dictionaries and arrays, and incorrect multiple-choice arrays. I have emphasized the necessity to stick to the details several times. For multiple choice questions, I have specified the format here and here.

I can understand that loosing points because of formalities is frustrating - that is why I will offer the clearance session. In case you got the ideas right and there are just some subtle format errors, we can manually admit you to the final exam then.

Thanks for your understanding and for showing (more) respect when communicating with us.

Best,
Roman
