HPC Connectivity Issues

Dear Students,
We checked with the HPC team regarding the reported connectivity issues.
According to their feedback, there is currently no known general issue affecting the cluster. Their best guess is that many of the reported connection problems are related to the use of VS Code Remote SSH on the submission nodes (conduit/conduit2), especially when resource-intensive extensions such as Pylance are running remotely.
Please note that conduit and conduit2 are intended as submission nodes rather than development machines. The HPC team recommends either:

using VS Code Remote with unnecessary remote extensions disabled, or

using the Code Server interface via OOD: https://wiki.cs.uni-saarland.de/en/HPC/interactive
If you are still experiencing issues, please send concrete details (time of occurrence, error messages, screenshots if available, and what you were doing when the issue occurred on forum) so that we can forward them to the HPC team for further investigation.
