Machine Learning in Cybersecurity

For students taking the exam on April 6th and 7th: 

• Please now find the Zoom link in the internal page (please scroll to the end of the page).
• You can also find there more instructions regarding the exam, please read and follow them carefully.
• As a reminder, the exam schedule can be found in the materials page.

To accommodate some last-minute conflicts with other exams, we updated the exam schedule for April. There are two changes:

1. Some students who could not make their previous slots were switched around and assigned new slots (marked in yellow).

2. All times were slightly adjusted to create small breaks.

Hi,

As the semester has come to a conclusion, the GPUs that we had for the course need to be released. By next week, all MLCySec accounts and data on the university GPUs will be deleted. Therefore, please back up and move your data that you would like to keep, at most by the end of this week.

If you have not used the GPUs/don't want to backup your data, no actions are required. 

As you know, the exams will be held virtually next week via Zoom. 

If you want to test your Zoom setup (connection, audio, and video) with us and make sure it works well, we offer a 30-min slot (13.30-14.00) on Friday right before the presentations. Please log in using the Zoom link for the tutorials. 

We strongly recommend that you join this call to test your setup, especially if you have not used Zoom before.
We have a tight schedule on the exam days, and cannot accommodate delays.

We would like to remind you that the deadline for the final report would be on 4th Feb., 23:59. 

Please also find in the materials' section the schedule for the final presentations of your projects which will be held on two days, Tuesday 8/2 and Friday 11/2, during the lecture and tutorial time, respectively.

We have randomly assigned the teams to these two days. If you have a conflict, please feel free to coordinate and switch with another team and let us know, or let us know if that is not available. 

Each team will have 8 minutes to present their work, followed by 4 minutes for questions/discussions. We will strictly enforce the time-limits. 

All team members should attend, but it is okay if only one team member presents the project. The presenter should share the screen with the slides and turn on the video.
Please join using the tutorial's zoom link (which you can find in the internal page).

Also note that this final presentation will affect your grade, and it will be graded based on both the content of your project and the presentation.

Each presentation should roughly contain the following parts: Title, introduction to the problem, your proposed solution, baselines, experimental results, discussion/takeaways.

Please send in your slides in a PDF format to: mlcysec_ws2022_staff@lists.cispa.saarland, the day before your presentation.

 

All groups which submitted a project proposal have now received their individual feedback. I was impressed with the ideas you came up with, and we are looking forward to seeing them realized!
