Dear Students,

On the materials page we have uploaded both exams from the last two years (EML 20 and EML 21), giving you 4 exams in total.

IMPORTANT: These exams were open book. This means that students were allowed to consult their notes, books, and other resource materials during the exam. For this reason the questions in an open book exam are different from a traditional exam where no additional materials are allowed. For example, you won't see questions about definitions in an open book exam.

We have not yet decided whether this year's exam will be open book or not. In any case, practicing with the previous exams is very good idea. If you are able to solve these exercises you should also be able to solve a closed book exam.

Currently, the solutions for only 1 out of 4 exams is provided since the rest of the solutions need to be polished. We will upload them soon. We highly recommend that you try to solve the exam yourself without consulting the solutions at first. Think of this as a unique opportunity to simulate an exam.

Finally, we will try to arrange an opportunity for you to ask questions about these exams in a future tutorial session. More details will follow.
